Mens Earrings

From cool black diamond earrings for men to hot gold hoops & magnetic studs, men's earrings are quickly becoming one of the trendiest looks in the world of fashion jewelry for the modern guy.

When it comes to stylish & cool ear-wear, the male gender is no longer overlooked.

Some styles and designs available today are so unique, expressive and eyecatching that they are almost impossible to ignore.

Some of these head turning styles for instance can add a aura of mystique that can be very attractive, other designs are all about attitude, either way it all adds up to a good way of getting attention, being noticed, and standing out of the crowd.

A man's ear wear should convey his personality. Black spikes and skull studs for instance give this type of jewelry for men a very masculine feel that guys today are looking for, but Spikes and blades for instance seem very punk rock, while symbols like skulls and skeletons are very goth or dark. Dragons and claws seem to imply an adventure loving soul, while kite shaped studs seem both classic and trendy. Choosing the right ear well should be well thought out, if you are going to make a statement, then make sure you get it right.

Dangling ear wear or colors that are not metallic, clear crystal, black or earth toned are hard for most guys to carry off without seeming too flamboyant but there are exceptions with the right styles (see examples further below on this page) and a guy with the right personality and attitude.(Photo credit: all photos are Amazon product images with crediting links)

Male Earrings

Mens earrings come in a variety of metals, the most popular of these being gold earrings for men (including white gold) followed by Sterling Silver, Stainless Steel, Titanium and Platinum.

Some of the more popular materials I have seen in use for accentuating male earrings include cubic zirconias, crystals and diamonds (including diamonds in black which are quickly becoming a popular choice). I have also seen authentic gold, blue and other fancy colored diamonds in use.

Magnetic earrings for men - Jewelry for ears (non pierced)

Magnetic types offer the luxury of an authentic looking stud earring with a non pierced style in a matter of seconds via a discrete pair of magnet backings on the earring. The option to remain free of piercings is popular for guys who only wish to sport the look occasionally. I would not have guessed that these tapers are all really fakes.

Masculine styles

Some of the more popular masculine designs that I have seen include angular shapes such as square and kite which help accentuate the naturally angular features of males.

Popular styles include tapers gauge and plugs which are considered less feminine, the same can be said of some of the symbols used which may include screws or spikes and my personal favorite - dragons.

Other popular symbols include skull and crossbones and blades.

Top colors

The most popular non metallic color for guys earrings is black as seen in the image to the right which features kite shaped style. I love this particular style because the color and texture makes me think of Oreo cookies - yum!

I think that small black styles are very fashionable, from black stud earrings to hoops & plugs, black jewelry for the ears come in many different materials. These materials often include black diamonds (which I am fascinated by) and black Cubic Zirconia. Black Titanium and even black Anodized stainless steel are also often used.

Popular styles

Some of the most popular styles include square or round stud, magnetic earrings which require no piercings, hoop, trendy styles of plug & gauge earrings, plus Huggie and Hip Hop styles, other shapes including ball and cuff can be found, but are less popular.

Ear Accessories for males

I remember that not long ago jewelry for men was limited to rings chains watches cuff links and the occasional bracelet, but when it came to ear jewelry, it was often thought of as too feminine or at best controversial especially in some religious societies. However in many ancient societies, such as ancient Egypt, the wearing of ear adornments by the male gender was not uncommon.

A lot has changed in a few years. At first a single tiny gold knob might be sported or sometimes two, this was later followed by a tiny gold or black rubber hoop, the "diamond" stud later followed as popularized by male celebrities and music artists, more often than not a fake stone such as cubic zirconia was used. At this point subtlety of style choices began to fade as sporting a bigger rock was associated with affluence, a bold sense of style, and confidence.

Men's hoop earrings - Trendy Fashionable & Popular Designs

Gold hoop styles are a popular traditional option, for a more trendy choice in hoops try Huggie earrings which are wider and hug the ears. A trendy option is the use of the color black as in the spiked style shown here that I absolutely love.

Bold Modern styles

Today, guys with rings in their ears is a lot more commonplace and the stigmas and stereotypes that were associated with this form of expression is beginning to fade, there is a lot more freedom of expression and a lot more choices in the types of styles that males can sport.

From thick Huggies and Hip Hop styles to Gothic inspired studs all available in an array of metals and materials, the world of male fashion has truly evolved.

For a very trendy nontraditional option when looking for diamond earrings suitable for men check out the Iced out Hip Hop Huggie hoop in white gold with black diamonds pictured here. Some of the designs here range from simple & cool to punk and Gothic.

Stud earrings for men - Here are some of the latest cool styles

Diamond stud options come in real or fake diamonds (cubic zirconia), most often it will be a single stud often in a princess cut, however micro pave settings (where many smaller stones are set together) are increasing in popularity.

These are also popular in plain gold and is often sold either in pairs or individually since many guys prefer the style of wearing one piercing instead of two. When it comes to mens earrings studs are the most popular choice.

Modern stud designs

Studs come in many styles including round and square cubic zirconia or diamonds of various sizes in black or white, and various symbols such as a blade. They are often made of gold or stainless steel.

These styles which include screw, blade and dragon are a few of the interesting studs that I have seen online

Diamond earrings for men

From black stud to hoop styles

From real to fake, mens diamond earrings have been popular for some time especially when square in shape (princess cut), however black diamond jewelry for guys are increasing in popularity as a more trendy and manly choice than the traditional white or crystal or yellow options.

Although diamond stud styles for males usually come in a single stud, they can also be found in clusters of many tiny diamonds together.

Some of the most expensive types include black diamonds in a platinum setting.

Mens diamond earrings - White & black diamond earrings

White diamond is very classic & timeless, but diamonds that are black in color have a very unique and masculine appeal, especially when paired with a square or angular shape as in my first selection below. However even a traditionally feminine shape such as the cluster flower can seem a lot more manly when set with black diamonds as seen in my last selection. A dark setting can also enhance black colored diamonds.

On this page is an assortment of some of my favorite diamond styles one of which also includes canary yellow and blue diamonds.
